Pool Envy

Let me start by saying, I do NOT want a pool.  That would be just one more thing to keep up with around here!  But, I would LOVE a friend with a pool.  Especially one that is nestled in a lush, green yard, with a molded concrete border, fantastic pool house and beautifully tiled.  Do you have a pool?  Can I come over?

Envelope Addressing

Hello!  Did you all have a relaxing Memorial Day?  Our trip to the farm was amazing!  We had so much fun, and soon we are heading off to the Atlanta Food and Wine Festival.  So, today is devoted to getting a few things done around here...mostly laundry and vacuuming, but also addressing invitations for my 10 year reunion this summer!

I am certainly not a calligrapher, but I do feel like a hand-addressed invitation is prettier, regardless of your handwriting style.  The easiest way to make your invitations look uniform is to use a lined envelope insert.  It's too easy!

First, you will need an extra invitation, or a piece of cardstock that is cut to the invitation size.  Then, use a ruler to create 3 or 4 lines (depending on how you will address your envelopes).  The first line should be about 1/3 the way down the invitation, and the lines should be between 1/2"-3/4" apart (depending on your handwriting size).

Next, simply insert your liner, and viola!  An easy way to ensure clean, straight addressing.  It makes any handwriting look more professional!

An easy way to add style is to alternate between a swirled or cursive font and a simple, all-caps font.  I also like to fully spell the state and then space out the zip code across the bottom.

Fabulous Friday 5.24.13

It's finally Friday, and it's fabulous for some great reasons!  But first, some news...
Over the Moon (baby, gifts, and darling what-nots) is taking off, and this summer I plan to devote most of my time to product development.  Due to this exciting new endeavor, I have decided to cut back my blog posts to 2-3 a week.  I know that all 12 of you that read it daily will be very saddened by this news....  but it will allow me more time during our crucial ground-building period and also allow me to enhance the quality of posts.  But enough about that...it's Friday!  And here's why it's fabulous:

1. Closet clean-out.  I love starting the summer with a clean, organized closet!

2. Attending a beautiful wedding and reception at Park Lane.  The hubs looking super dapper and his hair really stealing my thunder.

3. Getting packed for a fun Memorial Day weekend at an amazing farmhouse that also happens to have a lake!  I'm a lucky girl!

New Work

Alright guys, I have made a whole slew of new paintings on paper!  All of these guys are available on Etsy.  Because I've been feeling in the summer mood, several of these bad boys have pink, coral, and orange colors.  Like a melty popsicle, no?

And don't worry...if you can't get enough of the black and white beauties...there are some of those new guys too...

There are tons more on Etsy if you want to check them out!  Plus, some of the older dudes are on there too!

Beach Blanket Bingo

Summer has arrived!  With a Memorial Day lake trip this weekend and heading to Cancun in a couple weeks, it's time to get my swim style in order!

But let's face it, if you look closer to the Pillsbury dough-boy than you do to Cameron Diaz, it's really more about the accessories than the swimwear.  Hats, sunnies, stylish cover-ups, bring it on!

Art & Design

In college and grad-level art classes they tell you that everything mimics fine art-fashion, design, literature, everything.  I know that sounds ridiculous, but I think it's kinda true...
Art is a way to express something that cannot be written or organized in any other fashion that by pure gesture, emotion, and visual understanding.  The unexplainability of art is what makes it so enticing.  These unexplainable bursts seem to trickle down into more cohesive, replicatable ideas about color, passion, composition, pattern, and emphasis.

Three reasons that make this Friday so Fabulous!

3. Starting some new works on paper!  This group is colorful for summertime!

SUPER easy DIY Lucite Tray for $5

When I came across this post on making a "Lucite" tray, I was beyond excited to try it out! I've been wanting a little tray to style my vanity perfumes, but the real lucite trays are a bit pricey.  This acrylic version is definitely not at nice as a real lucite version, but for $5, it's definitely an upgrade!

It's so simple...it's just an acrylic frame from Michael's!  I got the 9x12 size, but they carry smaller and larger sizes.  The 9x12 was originally $5.99, but you can find a 40% off coupon on their website, making mine only $3.60!  I also found a piece of textured scrapbook paper on sale for $1 (many are even less) and viola!

Now, I also cheated a little....I had my scrapbook paper laminated for some extra strength and to make it easier to clean.  This was a free service for me, but would not be expensive if you had it done at kinkos.

All White Bedding

Now, I love color.  But all this summery weather has got me thinking about a light and airy bedroom.  I love the idea of layered neutrals and all-white bedding.  Nothing says crisp, clean, and heavenly slumber quite like white!

Villa Savannah

Have you ever heard of Villa Savannah?  It's a great little boutique on Broughton Street in Savannah.  If you're ever there, you definitely need to check them out.  They have awesome home accessories and chic accent furniture for a nice price.  They also have really cute clothing and accessories.

While their online store selection is a little slim, they still have my favorite items there....the lighting!  These guys are so much more gorgeous in person than they are in the photos.  My favorite is by far Villa Savannah's Gardenia fixture.  Totally gorge.

You can check out their online store here, but again, they on-site collection is a lot more impressive.  So, if you're ever in the area, make sure to check them out!

Monogram Monday 5.13.13

Lately, I cannot get enough of a monogram window treatment.  I first came upon this image on Pinterest, and you know how I love blue and white.  I am in love with the monogram linen piece on this treatment!  After that, I just kept seeing other great ideas!

Fabulous Friday 5.10.13

Three reasons this week was fabulous!

1. So excited to finally take my anniversary necklace from Kitten to the jewelers and having a couple of beautiful cross charms from my mothers attached.  I love how it turned out!

2. Getting to spend time with friends at a really beautiful wedding weekend!  My favorite part?  The rehearsal dinner at Canoe.  I have been wanting to go this picturesque little restaurant for years.  It was totally delish!

3. The Met Gala. I know that the images were everywhere, but I can't help it, I love them! It's my favorite night of celebrity gawking, because the fashion is simply amazing. My favs? Well, you know I'm a sucker for a gold...
