New Boots

With Labor Day weekend approaching, I can't help but be ready for fall!  I am much more into sweaters, boots, and scarves than I am into bikinis, tanks, and shorts.....

This fall I am in the market for some new cowboy boots.  I love to wear boots with jeans or a cute dress in the fall, and last year I plum wore a hole in the bottom of mine.  Ever since we visited Fort Worth last fall, I can't get the idea of a new pair of beautiful boots out of my head!  The last few pairs I have purchased were traditional brown with a little stitching, but this time I'm thinking about stepping up my boot game!  Stepping up to boot!  Giving my style a little kick!  Showing people what I'm all a-boot....and more terrible puns in that vein...

Back to School!

This week has been a whirlwind!  Starting at a new school can be overwhelming and exhausting, even if I am excited to be teaching at my alma mater.  I kid you not, I have been crawling into bed, half-asleep, at 8:30 all week!

And floating into different rooms this year while they add onto the school makes for a little extra work, too!  You have to think ahead about what all you might need while you're on the go.

A new tote bag would not only help me stay organized from room to room, but would be a nice reward for surviving my first week, too!

Paris Market

As I mentioned in this post, my husband and I took one last summer jaunt to beautiful Savannah.  We saw the river, toured some lovely homes, and visited the SCAD Museum of Art, which, by the way, was fantastic.
We loved roaming around the squares and finding unusual little stores tucked away in the side streets.  But I have to say, that my favorite store is definitely the Paris Market.

While this magnificent store is not off the beaten path (it's actually on the prominent Broughton Street), it still has funky little treasures and trinkets that feel fresh and yet classic.

And the exterior is just as glamorous as the interior...

Check out these presh cafe chairs and tables...
Oh, and did I mention they have a little coffee bar with delectable snacks inside?  Because they do...

Magnificent Moldings

I know, I know, I've been gone for a while!  The mister and I skipped town for one last hoorah before I started work again.  We went to Savannah to act like huge tourists by day and visit family by night.  We even made it out to Tybee Island one day to sit on the beach.  It was a really end to a wonderful summer...but more on that later...

All those gorgeous houses in Savannah made me wish I can 12 foot ceilings and gorgeous custom moldings. Think I could pull these off in my ranch house??...ha! So classic, fanciful and chic!

Fabulous Friday 8.2.2013

I may have only worked 2 days this week, but I cannot express how happy I am that Friday is here!  I am going to a new school system this year to teach, so I had new teacher orientation 2 days this week.  I met some great people and am really pumped about the new year, but MAN am I tired!  I'm not used to this whole "work" thing....

So, this Friday is truly fabulous!  I can already feel myself getting back into my regular routine after a wonderful summer.

1. Being able to cross "making slip covers" off my summer to-do list!

2. Picking out some shoes, baubles, and bags for a summer of 10 year reunions, part 2!

3. Enjoying a pretty gift from my mother, which has found a spot on my living room coffee table!

Happy weekend everyone!
