Day-Dreaming

Perhaps all this wintry weather has me feeling trapped in-doors, or perhaps it is the upcoming celebration of St. Patrick's day, but all the same, I am day-dreaming of an Irish get-away...

A sophisticated stay-over: romantic cocktails in the garden terrace of the Merrion Hotel in Dublin.

Amazing coastlines and cliffs, especially the Cliff of Moher.  They are not only stunning, but hold a special place in my heart since they are where the famous climbing scene from my favorite movie, the Princess Bride was filmed!
And on a different but awesome/slightly disturbing note, you may want to check out this blog on the topic...

AbFab Friday

This weekend I'm looking forward to some AbFab weather that will hopefully last me until spring-time finally arrives!  Speaking of AbFab, I am dying over these sassy specs, all under $21 (most under $10)!

Obsessed: Sur La Table

Ok, there are a couple of signs that let me know I am officially old: 1. Sometimes I shop at Stein Mart, and 2. I really, really, really like kitchen stores.

I just now got around to going to the new Sur La Table at the Summit here in Birmingham, and boy howdy!  Was I in for a treat!  They have THE most awesome stuff in there....!!
I totally would've gotten this precious mother/daughter apron set for my sister and nephew....but he's a boy, so strike that...

I don't know why, but I'm always drawn to laurels.  I love crests, and I use that symbol in my artwork a lot.  So, when I found out that this was actually a handy kitchen gadget, I was really excited.  It's actually really cool-it "raises your roast for faster, healthier cooking"!
And who doesn't love cupcake decorating stuff!!??  They had TONS of cute decorations from Meri Meri and Paper Eskimo.

I have really been wanting a metallic kitchen sponge lately!  It seems like it would add some much-needed glamour to my kitchen sink area.  These would be cute in a basket of kitchen gear for a hostess gift!

And, kitchen towels.  Tons of them.  Every color imaginable.  Another really cute gift idea!

I enjoyed my visit at Sur La Table so much, that I was inspired to create a little easter table!  Everything you see can be found on their website! Enjoy!

Do you know...

Do you know Tracey Kafka?  Don't worry, I don't either!  I just stumbled upon her work one day, and let me just tell you, it's awesome....
I love the flesh tones of this one, and the way the paint sits on the surface?  Gorge.
If you're into abstracts, like I am, this gal's for you.
Check out this pink and orange stunner.  Wouldn't these be great in a single girl's place?  Or a beach house?
This one has to be my favorite.  I love, love, LOVE that lavender swipe!  And the varying widths of the paint colors is nice too.  So much texture!
A little homage to Rothko, no?  Just like a beautiful sunset!

Day-Dreaming

Wouldn't it be nice to have just one more day of weekend?  Today I'm day-dreaming of a romantic breakfast in bed.  Perhaps this sprang up because I also desperately miss watching Downton Abbey, and was also jealous how Mary is allowed breakfast in bed, now that she's married.

If only that were my case..........!!

Pillow Talk

For Christmas, my mother gave me a pair of beautiful Louis Ghost Chairs.  I am in love!  However, I'm now on the hunt for the perfect pillow to plop in those bad boys....  I would ideally like some with texture-embroidery, applique, velvet-rather than just a standard cotton pattern, and finding one that in my budget is harder than you think!

Know of any great pillow resources?  I'd love to hear them-feel free to leave a comment!

Happy Friday, by the way!  Here are a few weekend links to muse upon:
Wicked Preppy-aptly named!
Reasons to Breathe-romance, fashion, and lots of champagne!
Zsa Zsa Bellagio- I have no idea who this is, but I'm totally fascinated!
