Do you know Jaime Derringer?

Do you know Jaime Derringer?  I ran across this fabulous work on Anthology magazine and loved it!  Such fun colors and beautiful abstract shapes and line work.  I would mind having one of these sweet little guys up in my kitchen.

You can find Jaime's work for sale on etsy.

New Work

Alright guys, I have made a whole slew of new paintings on paper!  All of these guys are available on Etsy.  Because I've been feeling in the summer mood, several of these bad boys have pink, coral, and orange colors.  Like a melty popsicle, no?

And don't worry...if you can't get enough of the black and white beauties...there are some of those new guys too...

There are tons more on Etsy if you want to check them out!  Plus, some of the older dudes are on there too!

New Work

After taking a break, I am back to painting.  Not just the prints for the Over the Moon baby store, but also adult, abstract works.  Well, I say adult, but actually these could be for children, too! (Also, I don't mean adult in a creepy way....ha...)

Below are a few of my favorite works on paper, that combine watercolor, acrylic, thread, wax, and gold foil.

And here is a piece, lit very dramatically, that I framed to hang in my own home.

And here's the same piece, looking very fetching, bedside in my guest room.

I am still working on formatting my other website, so for the meantime, you can catch the rest of the work and close-ups on my Etsy page!

Do you know...

Do you know Tracey Kafka?  Don't worry, I don't either!  I just stumbled upon her work one day, and let me just tell you, it's awesome....
I love the flesh tones of this one, and the way the paint sits on the surface?  Gorge.
If you're into abstracts, like I am, this gal's for you.
Check out this pink and orange stunner.  Wouldn't these be great in a single girl's place?  Or a beach house?
This one has to be my favorite.  I love, love, LOVE that lavender swipe!  And the varying widths of the paint colors is nice too.  So much texture!
A little homage to Rothko, no?  Just like a beautiful sunset!

Do you know...

Do you know Meg Aubrey?  Her amazing paintings center around contemporary suburbia and the modern-day housewife.

I love how only key elements are painted.  It's like these two are literally in their own world.

This is one of my favs.  Love how these ladies just look like they have nothing better to do than hang out on the tennis court, starbucks in hand, gossiping about someone's daughter.  And that stark background is killer.

These bad boys try to break down the facade of wealth, happiness, and 2.5 kids to expose the isolation, competition, and disillusion of the "good life".

Aren't they gorge?  So sad and barren, but so beautifully painted.  Love the colors in this one.

More of Meg's amazing work can be found here.

Next week we will be taking a sneak peek into my own sketchbook and work to come soon.............!!  Happy weekend!
